The Golden Bear

Piccard AX5 made in about 1967.   It was featured in a Johny Carson episode where he was taken on a ride with Don Piccard.   This historical balloon is for sale.  It is located in So. Cal.  The photos were taken in 1983(ish), and that was the last time it was flown (tether). I am sure it is not air worthy in it's present condition.  I think it would only be good for some sort of static display, or museum display.  I am sure it could be restored, but the cost MAY be prohibitive, despite it's historical significance.  It was also featured in a McDonalds commercial, and a few other Hollywood productions. 

This is a rare piece of true ballooning history.
